The Companies (Statutory Audits) Act 2018 was passed in July and commenced on 21^st September 2018. It introduces a significant change to audit exemption where companies that file the annual return late will be allowed to file those particular financial statements as audit exempt and the company will be required to have the next two financial years audited.
